More than 140,000 children in Maryland have lived in poverty over the last decade.*
The ENOUGH Alliance is working to change that.
The ENOUGH Alliance is a coalition of local and national philanthropy and private sector organizations dedicated to investing in children and families to end child poverty in Maryland.
We are joining together to reach the goal of investing $200 million over the next six years to complement Maryland’s public investment and end child poverty.
The ENOUGH Alliance will invest alongside the State of Maryland’s Engaging Neighborhoods, Organizations, Unions, Governments and Households (ENOUGH) Act, which includes a first-in-the-nation, place-based effort to tackle concentrated poverty and promote economic mobility.
The ENOUGH Act provided $13.1 million in grants to 27 local organizations in December 2024.
Join the ENOUGH Alliance
The ENOUGH Alliance reflects a whole-of-community effort to tackling poverty and promoting economic mobility. The Alliance commitments provide resources to communities who know what they need best to thrive.
Members of the ENOUGH Alliance commit to at least one of the following:
Contribute to the ENOUGH Community Support Fund. This fund will provide philanthropic support to Maryland’s ENOUGH awardees and other organizations working in ENOUGH-eligible communities. Organizations can make a donation or grant to this pooled fund to maximize flexible resources that will be responsive to communities’ needs. The fund is managed by Global Impact, which serves as the fiscal sponsor, and will be governed by a small advisory committee of philanthropic and community leaders with relevant expertise.
Provide Aligned Funding in ENOUGH Communities. Organizations who commit to new or continued investments directly to community-based organizations in Maryland are also welcome to join the ENOUGH Alliance. These investments must touch ENOUGH-eligible communities and fall within at least one of the three pillars of the ENOUGH Initiative (cradle to career education, healthy and economically secure families, and safe and thriving communities). The resources must also be available to organizations between 2025-2030.
